Coaching, the short version

Life Coaching has a proven method to move towards your goals and dreams. Study after study have shown that profession coaching moves people towards those dreams faster and more effectively than any other path.  The key to coaching success is built on the skill and training of the coach, but more important is "fit" between coach and client. My approach is built on the same training that most professional coaches have undergone, with an ingredient most of them leave out: The Spirit.

For many clients, this difference has been the key to finding the success that had eluded them in the past. Interested in learning more? Read on.

The Longer Version.

If you are reading this, you are thinking about the next steps in your personal and professional growth.

I am going to start with why, if you are considering a coach, you might want to consider me. After all, there are a zillion coaches out there.  Then I am going to talk briefly about what coaching is and is not. Then I will share the hard numbers using verifiable the studies on the ROI (Return on investment) that studies show coaching provides. And I am going to touch on the "Spirit First" approach I use, and why it works, based on my clients' own feedback. It is a lot of information, but if you are serious about your success, and serious about coaching, you'll learn some things that will help you make an informed decision.

Why Me? Why the Spirit?

I have been coaching at Quarry House since 2011. That's over ten years. My clients are people in business, technology, the arts and ministries. Most of my clients already have had success, but they have a dream or a transformation they have not reached yet. Most of them have worked with other coaches before coming to me. In 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, I took some time to ask many of my past clients why they felt like we had succeeded together, when they had failed with others. The answer was almost always centered around the spirit.

You see, we know the steps to success. There has been a success book, success seminar movement for the past 50 years and no matter which of them you choose, they say mostly the same things. New buzzwords perhaps, but basically the same path. And those paths work when followed persistently. Most coaching or on-line programs pretty much follow these tried and true step by step paths to succeed. But still somehow, a tremendous number of people who start those programs manage to fail. And they think it is their fault. Really, though, it's not.

Here is what I have learned. There is a lack of spirit in the way we approach spirit. I am not talking religion here, though I have found most faiths con contribute mightily to success. And I am not talking about spirtt in terms of "something bigger than me:. though that to can contribute. I am talking about our own, individual spirits. What gives us strength? What helps us persist? What leads us to failure? It's almost always something in our spirit. The reason most of us fail is because there is something in our spirit, some tender place, or some false beliefs that, when we hit a hard spot, sends us to a dead halt.  Most success coaches ignore this, or if they treat it, it's in passing. What I do is help clients move past that place FIRST, and only then attack the tried and true paths. In other words, I prepare your spirit first, then do the grunt work second. And you know what? It works.

If you think that approach makes sense, read on as we talk about what coaching is, how it work, and more importantly, what kind of results the science of statistics say you can expect.

Are you where you want to be in your life?

And if you are not, then the question becomes, how do I get there? You've tried books. Maybe you have gone to classes. And maybe, because you've read the hype, you've considered a personal life coach. There's a reason personal coaching has become such a big part of the success landscape. It works. For anyone who is serious about taking their dreams and creating the life they want, nothing, and I mean nothing, works as well or as fast as personal coaching. But is coaching for you? Hopefully some of the information below will help you decide.

Let's talk a little about what coaching is.

Coaching involves the ability and investment in understanding you. When I am working with you one-on-one, it is my highest objective to help you reach your purpose, vision and goals by working through issues and goals specific to your needs. Nothing about what we do is canned or comes from a formula. You are my focus. Not a company, which is the case with most mentors. Not how your success affects my life, which is often the case when friends and family work with us. No, it's all about you in a good coaching relationship.

Coaching works with you one on one in a safe, empowering environment.  We begin by focusing on the spirit. After building your spirit to a focused, resilient dynamo, we begin the nuts and bolts work of coaching. using a proven process developed by The John Maxwell Team  and Maxwell Leadership. (the world's largest professional coaching organization) that is tailored specifically to your needs and style, rather than by forcing you to fit a mold, you and I create a strategic plan for you to gain clarity, and thorough a weekly or bi-weekly  process of interaction and accountability, systematically move you towards best goals. Coaching can be done in person, if you are local, or via two way video on the web using the best technology tools available. This is not magic or hype. It is a proven process that has worked for thousands of clients. It can work for you.

What kind of results can you get from coaching?

Here are a few things you can look forward to improving:

Studies show that overall, coaching clients have an 99% satisfaction rate, and 96% of them would repeat the process.  (Want to know more? Download my white paper with all the facts and figures and sources: PDF/PDF 1- ROI.pdf.)

I hold my client list to a very exclusive and small group, so that I can serve them better and be more available than most coaches.  But even if I am not taking clients at this moment, I would be glad to talk to you about what I do, and give you a taste of how it works, for free.

I could tell you that I am just being generous, and I do like to see people around me succeed. But the real reason is that I don't want to waste anyone's time. Not yours and not mine. If you are serious about changing your dreams from mere hopes to reality, then working with a coach is the most reliable way to do this. And conversation provides clarity whether coaching makes sense for you. It gives you the chance to test the process and to begin to reap benefits and decide if it makes sense, at no cost. And it tells me I have a serious client who is willing to do the work to create the life they want, without waiting weeks or months to find out.
