Tom Atkins' photographs have been seen in magazine
articles, advertisements, book covers and many other
venues. While his photographs covers nearly every genre,
Atkins has for over a decade specialized in photography
of three uniquely challenging niches.
Tied into his work as a systems
integrator, much of Atkins'
photography has focused on technical spaces for
television, AV and media-centric spaces. Used in
magazines, marketing materials and web sites, Atkins is
particularly skilled at capturing the high tech
atmosphere and design of these spaces. Clients include
systems integrators, manufacturers, architects and
publishers.
A passion for history developed into a passion for
photographing historic and spiritual spaces. Capturing
their unique atmosphere of these special locations, while taking special care to
preserve them is the biggest challenge in historic
imaging. Atkins, when possible, shoots with natural
light. When extra lighting is needed, he uses special
Low-UV lighting designed to preserve colors and
materials, while still providing quality light for
quality images. We provide significantly discounted rates for
smaller historic venues and spiritual institutions.
Living in Vermont and Virginia, Atkins has
also developed a
reputation for high impact landscapes that have appeared
in magazines, web sites and private collections.
We typically work on a daily rate, portal to portal.
Unlike many photographers, who retain all rights to the
photographs, we give you full rights to images we shoot
for you, for any use, saving you considerable money
should you later want to use a photograph for a variety of
uses, such as print, publication, and web.
