The Accidental Coach I
did not mean to get into personal coaching. It just sort of happened.
Quarry House actually began in 1998, as a
ministry called Summit Manor Ministries that focused on Spiritual Gifts. (That
ministry continues. If you are interested, go here.) Over
the years it's evolved and changed. More and more, I found myself preaching and
teaching less, and coaching people, helping them find purpose and
direction in their lives more.
The range of people who choose a coach is amazing
I've worked with businessmen, artists, pastors, project managers. The only thing
they had in common was that they wanted to find purpose in their lives, and grow
into something far more than what they were.
Reaching for better
One of the great fallacies in people's thinking
about life coaching is that it is for people who have somehow failed. But
statistics say otherwise. In general, people who chose life coaches are
successful in business and life, who want to get MORE out of their lives. More
money or deeper relationships or a better balance, or a revitalized energy and
creativity. Each person's "better" is different,
Could they do it without a coach? Absolutely. But
just as a world class athlete would still be a world class athlete without a
coach, using a coach helps achieve results faster, more effectively, and with a
lasting effect. That is what using a coach, whether it's me or someone else, can
do for you.
We're partners
Coaches are not
miracle workers. We're not just counselors, though we want to know you well
enough to help you through roadblocks. We're not just cheerleaders, even though
we encourage you through your journey. What we are
is an eye from the outside, with experience and training to help people get to a
better place. Here, we focus on helping others find a more creative, balanced,
fulfilled life.
But no matter how discerning we are as coaches,
no matter how wise our advice, in the end, it's your work, and as a coach, I'd
expect you to work at your own success. If you do, then together we cam steer you towards where you want to be. There are proven processes that help people
move forward, and consistent work on your part and my part will have you making
progress that can make a dramatic difference.
A free session.
If you have considered coaching, you've read the
hype. But in the end, the best way to see if a coach is for you, or if the fit
is good, is not the hype or the marketing. It's actually talking to someone for
a while, learning how they work, whether the chemistry is right, whether their
methods and way of working resonate with you.
With that in mind, we offer a free session to any potential client. I work by phone, Skype, AIM, Yahoo or
Quarry House's own
internal virtual meeting software. If you are in the Manchester, Vermont area,
we can meet in person. This free session should give you a better idea whether
coaching, or at least coaching with me, is for you. If it is, then you can
choose one of our payment plans and we can move forward together.
Take the step.
If you have read my own personal
mission statement, then you
know that helping people and companies reach their potential and reach their
dreams is at the core of who I am and what I do. If you are considering a life
coach, I'd urge you not to hesitate. Contact someone, whether it's me and my
free session, or someone else. Take the step. Move forward. Become that
something more you want to become.
